Jo Ann and Stacy's Survivor Fantasy League Rules
Summary: Scoring is divided into two phases with special bonuses available throughout the game.
Phase 1:
Slowly build your lead each week by picking 4 “safe” Survivors. Add
a 5th point if you can correctly guess who gets voted out that week
too. Make sure to pace your selections as you are limited to how
many times you can choose each Survivor as safe.
Phase 2:
Lock in the win by picking the correct order of the final four.
Bonus Points:
The player with the most points at the end of the season is
declared the winner!
The Prize: A $25 gift card from The Survivor CBS Store

JSFL Basic Rules:
No Spoilers Notice: We produce the podcast and run the JSFL to increase the enjoyment of watching Survivor each week. We do this for fun and believe that reading spoiler sites to get an advantage will ruin the experience. If you like spoiler sites and knowing what will happen next, this game and the Survivor Fans Podcast are not for you.
Phase 1: (Weekly Play)
Prior to each episode, players shall select 4 survivors that they believe will be “safe” from the vote for that episode. In addition, players will also need to submit their guess for which Survivor does get voted out that week. Remember to click the submit button to record your choices or your selections will not be saved.
The deadline for Weekly Play
selections is enforced by the automated website and typcially set
at 6:30 PM CDT.
Your selections will stay in affect until you explicitly send in a
change. If we have not received an update from you by deadline,
we'll use your picks from the previous week. However, be advised
that you will be dropped from the game for the remainder of
the season if you fail to submit your picks 3 weeks in a row.
“Safe” means that the survivor will not be “the person voted out”
or leave for any reason during that episode.
* The Twist: Each player can only select a given
Survivor 6 times to be safe throughout weekly play (~12 weeks).
Meaning, if there are 12 weeks of weekly play, you can only select
any one survivor to be safe 6 times over that 12 week period.
There is no restriction on how many times you can select someone to
be voted out.
Each successful “safe” selection equals 1 point.
Each successful “voted out” selection equals 1 point, with the
exception of the first episode. See the First Out Bonus
below for more details.
There are typically a maximum of 5 possible points per player
per week. On weeks when more than one Survivor is voted out, and we
know ahead of time, we may add an option to score an additional
"voted-out" point.
Depending on variations in the game, there will be at least 60
total Weekly Play points available in Phase 1.
Phase 2: (Final Four)
Final Four selections shall be submitted by 6:30 PM CDT, the day of the finale.
Final Four scoring is as follows:
Correctly select 4th place = 5 points
Correctly select 3rd place = 10 points
Correctly select 2nd place = 15 points
Correctly select 1st place = 20 points
Total possible Final Four points = 50
Bonus Points:
First Out Bonus 2 Point Bonus: (FOB)
Jump out to a commanding lead by picking the first Survivor to be voted off before the first episode airs.
Each player shall select one (1) survivor as their First Out choice. Should that survivor be voted out during the first episode, that player will be awarded a 2 point bonus.
Failure to select a First Out contestant by this deadline shall constitute a no-selection.
First on Jury 2 Point Bonus: (FOJ)
Here's a chance to recover a lost point, when one of your weekly Vote Off choices made during phase one turns out to be the First Jury member.
No special selection process is required. If your weekly Vote Off choice becomes the first jury member, you will be awarded two points that week instead of just one.
Ultimate Survivor 24 Point Bonus: (USB)
Demonstrate those hidden ESP skills. Pick the Ultimate Sole Survivor before the first show airs and make the rest of us all hate you for being so “damn lucky”!
Each player shall select one (1) survivor as their Ultimate Survivor. Should that survivor win, that player will be awarded a 24 point USB.
Failure to select an Ultimate Survivor by this deadline shall constitute a no-selection. Remember, you have to click Submit for your selection to be recorded.
USB 10 Point Second-Chance Option:
We've reached the merge and you're feeling like you want to change your pick? Here's your chance but it's going to cost you. :)
Only players whose ultimate survivor is still in the game and who choose to change their ultimate survivor pick shall be eligible for the 10 point USB.
Note: Should the player choose to not change their ultimate
survivor, they would remain eligible for the 24 point USB.
USB 5 Point Second Chance Option:
Was your first swag at picking the Ultimate Survivor way off the mark. Don't fret. There's still a chance to redeem yourself for a few extra bonus points.
If the player’s ultimate survivor is no longer in the game following the final merge, the player shall have a second opportunity to pick a new ultimate survivor.
If that ultimate survivor pick wins the game, the player shall receive a 5 point USB.
Only players whose ultimate survivor has been previously been
voted out shall be eligible for the 5 point USB.
Selections for the USB Second-Chance shall be submitted no later
than the deadline imposed by the automated website on the day of
the airing of the first episode after the final merge occurs.
Listener Reward Bonus Questions
Listen to the podcast to be eligible
for special Listener Bonus points. Intermittantly throughout the
season, we'll announce a question based on something said in one of
our podcasts. Submit your answer with your weekly picks and score
extra points that week. Click on the Answer Question link to submit
your answer.
Tie Breakers
In the event that several players
are tied for the most points at the end of the season, we may
choose to break the tie by holding a Survivor Trivia contest.
Additional details on the trivia contest will be made available if
this becomes necessary.
Credits: Big thanks to listeners Bob and Jac who did all the heavy lifting by creating the original set of rules.
Note: It may become necessary to modify the rules during the course of the season to accomodate changes in the format of the show. We reserve the right to make addendums to the rules at any time to account for these changes. All decisions are the responsibility of the Survivor Fans Podcast and are final.
