Be honest now. Did you really think he was going to switch, or were you sweating bullets like Jo Ann right up until that final vote was read? :) Here is the new merged tribe after episode 10. It's about individual immunity now and we think the Aitu four have a score to settle. Jo Ann and Stacy both think Adam will be the next to go. With the return of the Prodigal Son, the tiny Aitu four appear to be in power. Will they rule the roost from here on out? Who is your pick for who the next one to be voted out? Need a little more Survivor goodness while you deep fry the turducken and bake up some pumpkin pie? This week we hear from: Carol, Brian, Bob, Denver Dave, Claudia, Paul, Bonnie, Brad, Sandi, Robert, and Mike We got another bumper from a past Survivor. Lex van den Berghe did us the honor of opening up the show. Thanks Lex, and thanks again to listener Lisa! Now that we're at the merge, listener Brian asks, "Given what you know now, who's your pick for Sole Survivor?" We love hearing what you thought, and we've got several ways you can reach us. Our intro tune is basically what we're all thinking at this stage. Season 13 of Survivor has done a great job of making us ask, "What's Next?". The outro music highlights another element that really crops up at the merge. When individual immunity is at stake, we get to see the sneaky side of the Survivors as they start to scheme to hang around just one more week. Here's a link to the artists in case you want to learn more about them.

Our intro tune is dedicated to Candice and Jonathan. In hindsight, calling it a mistake may seem like an understatement. The outro music is dedicated to all the JSFL players who are contemplating their next step for episode 9. It's starting to get tricky now. You have to pick four safe players and the second person on the jury. Brian from Georgia is on hand to help you make your selection, so fear not and follow his sage advice. With tonight's episode we see the last of the "I'm here for the experience" clueless players exit the game. We're finally down to a set of folks that are actually interested in playing to win which makes the stakes much higher and more interesting at each turn.
Looks like Aitu's plan was to "kidnap" a powerful player and take them out of the game. Was that the best use of the kidnap option? Here are the tribes after episode 6. Fri, 27 October 2006 Hi Gang,Well, we didn't see quite enough new material to do a show for today's episode. There were a few things that caught our interest, but we can easily work them into a future podcast. If we get enough Listener Feedback we'll put out a podcast on Tuesday. Otherwise, we'll be back on Nov 2nd when the next episode titled "Why Aren't You Swimming?" airs. Thanks for checking in, Jo Ann and Stacy Category: Show Logistics -- posted at: 1:13 AM Comments[0] |
Thu, 26 October 2006 Our hosting provider notified us that the problem with downloading episode 100 should be fixed now. Give iTunes another try if you haven't already and let us know if you're still having difficulty. Thanks, Jo Ann and Stacy Category: Show Logistics -- posted at: 3:25 PM Comments[0] |
Wed, 25 October 2006 Hi Everyone, Our hosting provider hasn't got back to us on when we can expect a fix. They'll eventually figure out what's wrong and fix it, but this has happened before and dragged on for days. Uploading the file again didn't make any difference either. So, we have an alternative for you. It's a multi-step sequence and the file won't download directly into iTunes. You'll save it to your Mac/PC and then you can listen to it directly or you could add it to your iTunes library. Here's the link to get you to episode 100. JASS20061024.html The file is hosted at RapidShare. When you click on the link, you'll need to scroll down and click on the FREE button. That will take you to the 2nd page where you can choose which RapidShare network to download the file from (Cogent, Level-3, or Telia). I chose Cogent when I tested it and it downloaded very fast. You then need to enter the letters and numbers you see in the Captcha image, into the textbox and click the download button. Note: you don't have to purchase a premium account to download the file. This is a free service for files up to 100MB. If this sounds too complicated, bear with us and we'll eventually get the problem resolved with our provider. Thanks for your patience, Jo Ann and Stacy Category: Show Logistics -- posted at: 11:19 PM Comments[2] |
Wed, 25 October 2006 Hi Everyone, We have notified our hosting provider of the difficulties that you are having with downloading the 100th episode. They responded to say they were aware of problem and are working to resolve it. At this point, we do not have an update. While troubleshooting on my own, I noticed that previous episodes do not appear to be affected. I'm re-submitting the file in hopes of getting around whatever bug I managed to trigger with the post last night. If that doesn't work, I will post the show to one of the file sharing services and provide a link to it. Sorry for the inconvenience, Stacy Category: Show Logistics -- posted at: 9:48 PM Comments[5] |

Fri, 8 September 2006 ![]() It's time to kick off a new season of Survivor with our traditional "Judge a Book by its
Cover" show. We of course want to hear what you think about the decision to divide the tribes by race. Is it a grand "social experiment" or just another stunt that Mark Burnet proposed to stir up interest in the show? Who's your pick for the first one voted out? How many episodes will they air with four teams before they merge down to the normal two? Go out on a limb, and tell us who you think will win it all. From past experience, we know that these events typically result in multi-day outages. :) So, we thought it would be best to delay the show till Thursday and avoid the usual headaches that coincide with their growing pains. To those of you that got your inputs in already, thank you very much. We're that much closer to having the show done. If you thought it was just too rushed and you didn't have time to respond yet, there's still time! We'll be accepting email, audio files, and voicemail up till Thursday afternoon PST. Greetings Survivor Fans,
We got enough responses to do a special Saturday version of the Listener Feedback show. We
really enjoyed hearing what some of you thought of the final four cliffhanger.
We're planning on recaping the finale and including your reactions during the normal Listener Feedback show on Tuesday. It's been another great season of Survivor and we're looking forward to wrapping it up with your help. We look forward to hearing from all the regulars and hopefully a few new folks too. :) We've got several ways you can join in and participate. Thu, 11 May 2006 ![]() Greetings Survivor Fans,
Did you enjoy getting to see the extra reward challenge? Other than learning that Aras is also guaranteed final 3 with Terry, there was no real
change to the Gitanos tribe at the end of episode 13:
Aras, Cirie, Danielle, and Terry
Stacy's prediction for final four order was: Aras, Cirie, Danielle, and Terry for the win.
So that's pretty much out the door now. Jo Ann went with: Danielle, Cirie, Aras and Terry.
Her's might still materialize. How'd you do with your picks? We've got several ways you can join in and participate. You can call and leave a voicemail at 206-350-JASS(5277). "lifelong" commitment to peace and love so we thought it was appropriate to break out some
Buddha Nature to center him. The outro is dedicated to his gastro-intestinal demonstrations
after he returned from the reward challenge. He sure must feel comfortable around Cirie.

Tue, 9 May 2006 ![]() Greetings Survivor Fans,
There's lots of tasty, final four scenarios to consider in this week's Listener Feedback show.
The two biggest camps of thought either have Aras or Terry winning it all, but there's at
least one adventurous soul that predicts Cirie will walk away with the $1M.
It's not too late to weigh in with your prediction. We'd love to hear more views on how you think it's going to play out. Whether it's about something you saw on the show that you're dying to talk about with someone, or a suggestion for how we can improve the podcasts, we'd love to hear from you too! :) We've got several ways you can join in and participate. Thu, 4 May 2006 ![]() Greetings Survivor Fans, Hmm, did the brilliant Casaya's just send a fifth vote for Terry to the jury? It's not clear who's playing the worse inter-personal game at this point. If you have an alliance with Terry, or you attempt to make one, you're virtually guaranteed to go home next. If you're a part of the inseperable Casayas and you keep blindsiding your "friends" can you really expect them to vote for you to win $1M? Here's the Gitanos tribe as it stands after episode 12:

Mon, 1 May 2006 Greetings Stephenie/Survivor Fans,We resolved our hosting limitation problems. We decided to pay a little extra this month to boost up our limit so we could get this interview out to you sooner. This our third and final interview in the three part series that we conducted during Media Day 2006 for Survivor the Ride at Paramount's Great America. This time we sit down with Stephenie LaGrossa from Survivor Palau and Survivor Guatemala. Listen to what she has to say in reply to which season was the toughest based on her extreme experiences. And yes, she even comments on Judd, Judd's wife, and how bad Jaime really got before they got rid of him. Conducting these interviews was a great experience for long time Survivor fans like us. I hope we can find a way to do more and share them with you in the future. to have to think really hard in episode 11. Given her results, we think she could benefit from

Greetings Survivor Fans,
The consensus from the listeners is in. Don't freakin sing to me if I'm sick! Courtney managed
to asail to new heights on the annoying scale when Bruce went down for the count in this
episode, and lots of folks wanted to talk about it.
We certainly had fun with this show, maybe we were a little punch drunk. Jason gave us a good belly laugh, and it was great to hear Graham's voice. Graham, we understood every word, so we expect more of those in the future. It's great to hear from all of you. We really enjoy all the diverse views. Whether it's about something you saw on the show that you're dying to talk about with someone, or a suggestion for how we can improve the podcasts, we'd love to hear from you too! :) We've got several ways you can join in and participate. You can call and leave a voicemail at 206-350-JASS(5277). You can record an audio comment and send it to us via email at joannandstacyshow@gmail.com. With either of those options, we can include your audio directly into the special Listener Feedback shows. You can also send us your input in an email, and we'll read it into the show when we record. Lastly, there's a link for comments on the web page here. You can click that link and post your thoughts out there for everyone to see. The intro music for this week is dedicated to Bruce. To make it on to Survivor and then get
knocked off by an illness is a tragedy. The outro is dedicated to Shane and Courtney. Think of
it as a kind of a love song from Shane. Here's a link to the artists in case you want to learn

Fri, 21 April 2006 ![]() Greetings Survivor Fans,
Wow, that reward challenge carried quite a sting for one survivor. Can you imagine how you
would feel if the folks you had been living with for the last 30 days declared that: you talk
too much, you're a poseur, you're spineless, and the most annoying person out here?
Here's the Gitanos tribe as it stands after episode 10:
Aras, Cirie, Courtney, Danielle, Shane, and Terry

that we missed in tonight's podcast recap and analysis?

entendre there) as well as several of his Casaya tribemates. The "pecking order" challenges

Tue, 18 April 2006 ![]() Greetings Survivor Fans,
We're glad you stopped by to check out the show. This episode is a great example of our
Listener Feedback show where you get to sound off with your views on how the game is
shaping up, creative strategies that we all wish the Survivors would apply, and as always
general observations on the humorous side of the events that have occurred.
Judging from your feedback, we're facing another episode with lots of new possibilities for us all to ponder and look forward to. Thanks to all the listeners who took the time to share their ideas. Thu, 30 March 2006 ![]() Welcome Back Survivor Fans, We're back from the 3 week hiatus and we've got a contest for you! There are 5 Survivor trivia questions in tonight's podcast. The first two listeners that respond with the correct answers will win copies of Todd Lerners new CD, if right now played guitar. We've really enjoyed playing Todd's music this season and he graciously donated some CDs to the show that we want to pass on to a couple of lucky winners that know Survivor trivia. Let's talk about tonight's show for minute now. Was anyone else left a little confused and dissappointed? We were expecting to see a reward challenge that included a helicopter ride, a challenge involving rope cutting, and someone having to leave due to a medical emergency. Instead we got a single immunity challenge and a predictable "Us vs Them" vote down tribal lines while watching the despondent La Mina tribe self destruct. It's great to have Survivor back, but that was kind of a bummer with no apparent end to Casaya's arrogant domination. Here's the new Gitanos tribe after episode 7:

Wed, 15 March 2006 ![]() Greetings Survivor Fans, Welcome to the Listener Feedback show for The Jo Ann and Stacy Show, a Survivor Fan Podcast. The consensus among the folks that responded this week seems to be that this last episode was rather underwhelming and disappointingly overhyped. We couldn't agree more. Maybe the folks at SEG/CBS will rethink their PR approach during the break, and stop cranking out those bogus "next time on Survivor" plugs. :) We're doing things a little different this week as we were seperated by the Pacific ocean when we recorded the show. Jo Ann's at home in northern California, and Stacy is in Penang, Malaysia. Thu, 9 March 2006 ![]() Greetings Survivor Fans,
Pssst, can you keep a secret?
I'm an ASTRONAUT!
Here's the tribes after episode 6: What did you think of this episode? This was the second week in a row where the pre-show hype left us disappointed and really wanting more. It was funny to see Dan get blown out of the water by Bruce, and the "Save Sally" plan that the Casaya ladies instigated was a nice twist. The "watch Shane the Psycho show" is getting kind of boring. Well, unless they do something that's never been done before, AGAIN, we're thinking the merge will occur when the show returns 3 weeks from now. Jo Ann thinks Aras will be the next to go. Stacy says it will be Bruce. Who's your pick for the next one to get voted off? Who do you think is really running La Mina, Austin or Terry? Did you see something in this episode that we missed? We want to hear from you! :) We've got several ways you can join in and participate. You can call and leave a voicemail at 206-350-JASS(5277). Wed, 8 March 2006 ![]() Welcome Back Survivor Fans, It's time for another gigantic dose of Listener Feedback goodness! This week we hear from: Shawn, Hanna, Bob, Carol, Dave, Rob, Paul, Graham, Fancy, Brad, and Sandi. Looks like there's quite a few of us that are in agreement. Aras will be the next one to go. We've been tricked by those devious Survivor Entertainment Group video editors before. They want us to think it's going to be Shane, but we're on to them this time. Aras has fallen out of favor with the ladies, so his ticket is up in episode 6. Who knew kidney beans could be so lethal? Check out the links section below for more info on just how dangerous they can be. :)
Check out these pictures that Bob captured from the video of episode 5 during the immunity
challenge. He's pretty sure that Casaya should not have won. What do you think? Thu, 2 March 2006 ![]() Hi Survivor Fans, Wow! Did you see who was cuddling in the shelter after the Reward challenge at Casaya this week? Would you have gotten rid of the physically, strongest player this early when the numbers are going to be so close for the merge? Do you think the women of Casaya have taken control of the tribe now? Were you impressed with how well they worked Shane? Wouldn't it be interesting to see Shane or Aras on the outside of the power structure? Did anyone notice if Bruce brought a bag or something he could have concealed an immunity idol in to tribal council? It didn't seem like anyone even considered that he might have found it. Also, what was in that bag that Terry had when he returned from Exile Island? Did he get a ration of beans too? Here's the tribes after episode 5: We think that La Mina is going to hold on and win immunity next week, and we're going to go out on a limb and predict that Aras will be the next to go from Casaya. If La Mina loses immunity though, we think Sally will be next to leave that group in an effort to keep the females from developing a numerical advantage after the merge. Who's your pick for the next one to get voted off? Did you see something in this episode that we missed? We want to hear from you! :) We've got several ways you can join in and participate. You can call and leave a voicemail at 206-350-JASS(5277). The intro music this week is dedicated once again to BobDog. trouble" finally caught up with him. The outro music is dedicated to Austin and Nick. Here's a

Wed, 1 March 2006 ![]() Welcome Back Survivor Fans, It's time for another dose of Listener Feedback goodness! There were several themes in your comments this week: "Why was Shane so calm at times?", "What would happen if someone planted lots of fake immunity idols on the island?", and many folks were outraged at Bobby's complete and utter lack of respect for his tribe mate's opinions. We also sprinkled in some tidbits we got from Ruth Marie's appearance on The Early Show and Survivor Live. Seems as though things were not exactly as they appeared due to some pretty generous editing liberties over the last couple of shows. This week we hear from: Hanna, Kurt, Josh, Dave, Graham, Sandi, Mike, Bob, Paul, Brad, Drew & Lili. We'd love to hear from you too! :) We've got several ways you can join in and participate. You can call and leave a voicemail at 206-350-JASS(5277). You can record an audio comment and send it to us via email at joannandstacyshow@gmail.com. The intro music this week is dedicated to Team Dysfunction: Casaya. They do a lot of
talking there, but we don't think anyone's really listening. The outro music is dedicated to
both tribes. We agree with several of you that we're about to see some alliances shift
regardless of which tribe wins immunity this week. Here's a link to the artist in case you

Fri, 24 February 2006 ![]() Hi Survivor Fans, Wow, Terry grabbed a significant power-up this week. Wasn't that awesome? He's going to be hard to stop come merge time. Have we ever seen a tribe so eager to have a leader to tell them what to do? Do you think he might have made a significant tactical error though when he agreed to keep Sally? Did he just give control of La Mina over to Austin without realizing it, or is Sally in the catbird's seat now? What did you think about the contrast between Bruce and Terry during their respective stays on Exile Island? :) Here's the tribes after episode 4: If La Mina loses immunity next week, Jo Ann says Sally will go next. Stacy says it will be
Dan.
Who's your pick for the next one to get voted off? Are you surprised that so far, only women have been voted out? Did you see something in this episode that we missed? Wed, 22 February 2006 ![]() Welcome Back Survivor Fans, It's time for a look back at episode 3 of Exile Island. This is the show where the listeners chime in and share their thoughts, feedback on what they saw, and share any episode specific mysteries they uncovered. This week we hear from: Hanna, Fancy, Brad, Graham, Bob, Sandi, Dave, and Drew & Lili. Graham from Scotland, newly appointed Chief of Research Scientist for JASS, once again supplied us with a surprise morsel of information. Turns out Bruce is somewhat correct about the cloth filter idea. Check the links section below for more details. Thanks to all for the excellent participation in this week's LF show. It totally makes the episode when someone pops in with an observation that never even occurred to us or highlights some little known fact or trivia item from a previous season. We want to hear from everyone out there. New listeners, long time listeners. The more we share, the more we all enjoy each episode. :) We've got several ways you can join in and participate. Thu, 16 February 2006 ![]() Hi Survivor Fans, How many of you were caught off guard when central casting's Danni clone got voted out this week? Wow, isn't Casaya lucky to have their very own self described "gift from heaven", Mr. Miyagi? He evidently has invented a new water purification system as yet unknown to modern science. Turns out you can filter 90% of bacteria out of water just by using a series of t-shirts. Go figure. We're going to have lots to discuss in this week's listener feedback show. :) Did anyone recognize that tree that Terry was standing by? It had these huge bean pods hanging on it. Wouldn't it be ironic if they were complaining about the lack of food and standing right beside a great source the whole time? Here's the teams as they stand after episode 3.
If it's Casaya, Jo Ann says Shane will be the next to go home. Stacy says it will be Cirie. If it's La Mina, we both think it will have to be Sally, loser of the spear. What's your call? Who will be next to go? Thanks for all the great participation in last week's LF show. Fri, 10 February 2006 ![]() Hi Survivor Fans, Once again, an episode packed with surprises and twists! Well, it appears we have our first villian/moron/drama queen of the season. Shane the ADD poster child and self professed 12 year old was on display for this episode. Oh yeah, he's also a quitter. Who would you choose to keep Melinda or Shane? Do you think it would really be that hard to drop bipolar Shane and pick up an alternate 4th for the alliance? Here's our new teams.
Were you impressed with Bruce's "Ka-ra-te" skills. Looks like it really helped him out on exile island. Maybe he was feeling a little insecure after not being picked for a team. Do you think he ever got fire? What's with these Survivors and fire. It's starting to look like there's only one or two people that can start a fire with flint and steel, and they've already voted one of them off. Did anybody ascertain exactly where the hidden immunity idol really is now? We didn't really think there was any new, useful information for the viewers. Jo Ann says Shane will be the next to go. Stacy says it will be a wounded Dan. Who's your choice for the next to leave Exile Island? Thanks for all the great participation in last week's LF show. Tue, 10 January 2006 ![]() Hi Gang, Did you have a nice holiday break? We sure did! :) It rained all through the holidays here, so we stayed cuddled up at home most of the time. We had a great time reading books, watching movies, and catching up on one of our favorite topics: Survivor. We watched Survivor Thailand for the 2nd time, and Australian Survivor (the one with an all Australian cast). We really enjoyed the Australian Survivor season. It was different and also quite intense at times. Thanks again for the tip on that one Shelley! We also finally had time to rent and watch Deadwood, the HBO drama. It is kind of like Survivor in the old west during the late 1800s, except they don't vote anyone off. They just kill them and feed them to the pigs! We had hoped to have the JVC, JASS Video Clip, for Rafe out sooner, but it proved a little difficult to assemble, missing and corrupted video/audio sources being the main challenge. Fri, 9 December 2005 ![]() Greetings Survivor Fans, Ok, we want to know, "Would you have kept the car?" Do you share Christiana's view that Rafe is the puppet master? There was potentially a great bit of evidence in support of her theory this week. Here's the final four: Stephenie, Rafe, Danni and Lydia Jo Ann says that Lydia will go next, followed by Stephenie, then Rafe and Danni to win. Stacy agrees that Lydia will be next, but he thinks Danni will follow her, then Stephenie and Rafe in the final two, with Rafe to win. Stacy says that the only chance Stephenie has of winning at this point is if she gets to face off against Lydia. He thinks there are four solid votes against her in the jury already. Who's your picks for next to go? Give us the order of the final four and your pick for sole Survivor. We are eager to hear how you would call it. We've got several ways you can join in and participate. You can call and leave a voicemail at 206-350-JASS(5277). Hey Gang, Remember when I said I'd have a video test file for you to check out over the weekend? Well, I spent a ridiculous amount of time converting, cutting, clipping, editing, and experimenting with different formats and finally have something for you to look at. This file should work in the Quicktime player as well as on a video iPod. If someone who has a video iPod can test it and let me know that would be great. I'm hoping that going the Quicktime route is acceptable given that so many listeners are using iTunes to download the podcasts. Please check it out and let me know if you have any problems
playing it. Otherwise, I'll assume this format is acceptable for any
future videos we compile. Comments[4] |
Fri, 2 December 2005 ![]() Greetings Survivor Scumbags, Are you feeling relieved? Did you get your wish this week? :) Wasn't the build up for that tribal council vote a classic Survivor moment? Who do you think made out best in the reward challenge? What would be your strategy for the "flip the tiles" immunity challenge? Here's where XHAKUM stands now: Lydia, Danni, Cindy, Rafe, and Stephenie So, who do you think will be the next to go? Jo Ann and Stacy think it will be Cindy. Who's your pick for final two now? Stacy says he thinks it was a really a double elimination show because he believes that Stephenie's multiple alliance betrayals will ensure that she can't win the $1M now. What do you think? Does she still stand a chance with the other star struck Survivors? Are you up for a pre-finale conference call where we can all get together via the free Gizmo project VoIP phone to reminisce about our favorite moments and hypothesize who will emerge as the sole Survivor? Help us put together our "Favorite Moments from Guatemala" video. What scenes should we include? We really want to hear from you (especially after this episode), and we create a special show for that purpose. We've got several ways you can join in and participate. You can call and leave a voicemail at 206-350-JASS(5277). You can record an audio comment and send it to us via email at joannandstacyshow@gmail.com. Lastly, there's a link for comments on the web page here. You can click that link and post your thoughts out there for everyone to see. The intro song this week is dedicated to all of us that were desperately hoping for some relief from the over confident gloating, power alliance. Similarly, we went with the same song we used in this week's Listener Feedback show since it was just perfect given the results we got in Tribal Council . Wed, 30 November 2005 ![]() Greetings Survivor Fans, We've got another round of excellent analysis from you guys, so let's dig in. This week, we hear from Bob, Shelley, Bill, Sandi, and Drew. Our focus, like the music we chose, is centered around the opportunity to choose a different path to the final four and hopefully avoid a safe, but boring ending. :) Keep those ideas coming for the "favorite scenes" video and watch the website for tests we will be posting this week to help us decide on a format. Let us know if you might be interested in testing out some new interaction options. If there is enough response, we will try and schedule a conference call via Gizmo.
